Have a piece of work you want to email to us? Here’s a few things we’d like you to keep in mind when you’re sending it in:
1. Always fill in the subject: First, specify whether it is a contribution or query. Second, mention the nature of your piece (essay, photo essay, photography, review, etc.). Finally, insert the title of your piece. Your subject should look like this: Contribution – Photo Essay – “Title”.
If you want to work with us or contribute more than one article, please mention it in the body of your email and change your subject according to the number of articles you wish to submit and your specialisation/profession.
2. Introduce yourself: Please mention your name, age, city of residence and current profession in the email. Give us one or two lines about you and your submission, and a brief account of why you would like it to be featured on the site. Nothing complicated. We would just like to know you better!
3. Attachment or No Attachment: If you are attaching your files, make sure they are .doc or .docx text files. If you are attaching photographs, stick to .bmp or .jpeg or .png files that are easy to open on any software. Photoshop files (.psd) sometimes fail to download or send properly on busy servers as the file size can sometimes be too big. Do not compromise on quality, though. High resolution pictures are always appreciated.
4. Pirates and Watermarks: We greatly discourage stealing content and prefer to add our Emaho watermark to the photographs so that they won’t be misused by passers-by. If you also wish that your watermark should be on your picture, add a white border around your picture and insert your watermark on the bottom left of the border. E.g. The photographs for our Quivering Cafe article have this border.
If you have any other queries about submissions, please send us an email at: info@emahomagazine.com
Thank you!
