Mumbai, India-
Abhilasha Roy is a Communication Design student from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Mumbai and she is one of the few upcoming designers pursuing her career in the world of creation. She has plenty of experience in India’s leading design and entertainment firms. She has interned with MTV and an animation firm called Invisible Rabbit along with a 16 week graduation project with the Industrial Design Centre at IIT Mumbai.
During the graduation project she completed a semi-fictional photo poetry book on the city of Mumbai called ‘Not my story’.
It was in 2011 that Abhilasha reached the turning point of her career leading her to immense recognition when she received the award for the Most Innovative Communication Design of the year by NIFT. What excites her is the mix and match of different mediums like being able to pair up poetry with images, hand drawn illustrations with photography and the surreal with the practical.
Fuchsia pinks and electric greens contrasting with subdued browns and blues are the various colours that create a magical beauty which is a real treat for the eyes.

Exploring further the unexplored methods of expression through her work is her unique gift that one should not miss out on. What the world is, and what Abhilasha brings out is the true aspect of beauty.
