Here are Petra and Miki from Aslan Art and Tattoos who believe their greatest inspiration comes from mythology and animals; and among animals, cats in particular. This obsession-inspiration is evident from the fact that they have 6 cats, even in their studio!
Unlike the impression most tattoo artists would create in one’s head, Petra and Miki have been vegans for many years now and choose to live their lives in an ecologically friendly manner. This includes using eco-friendly gloves and colours when tattooing.
For them originality, simplicity and expression with symbolism are of paramount importance in their art. They strongly believe in studying the history of tattooing and in fact, art in general. They mention a saying that creativity is rooted in right side of a female, which over the last 100 years has been suppressed by tattooing, a profession dominated by men.

The saying believes the left side of the male is reflected in competitive behaviour and plagiarism especially in terms of their work. Therefore, it is believed that symbolism, talismanism, originality, and the whole aspect of tattooing suffers at the hands of this.
Both Petra and Miki have been staunch practisers of Buddhism, Yoga, satipathana vipasaana meditations and many other spiritual schools.

The two have been tattooing and drawing since 20078 and for them, this work is all about having fun
