Philippines-

Philippines, the hub of street photographers witnessed a unique Photowalk in the, particularly in Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros, as 20 talented photographers kicked off this event event dubbed, “Last Moments of 2011” last December 31, 2011. The Philippines correspondent and the Photowalk organizer Clee A. Villasor, who is also a local photographer had the spawn of this idea some three years back from his personal photographers and integrated more photographers to this novel act with the help of collaborations. Emaho Magazine has made a spurt in bringing photography, Music, Art, Travel and anything under the sun that falls under the umbrella of creativity, to the international platform and this surely was a step forth their mission. The vision is to hold such local photowalks at the end of each year and take more and more photography enthusiasts to the walks. The brilliant and scintillating street shots by John Dx Lapid, Vincent Solis, Clee Villasor, Christian Octava Bangay, Geri Reyes and Gerald Macahig added a feather to the cap of this event and the organisers and proved that they had a heap of talent and skill in photography as a host of this photowalk.

One could see a bunch of photographers extremely talented and passionate towards Street photography on the streets. Moreover, this photowalk was indeed a step to put Street and travel photography to the international spectacle in the digital age. The point of note was that even the last person in the crowd appreciated the shots by the photographers and was uplift for those photographers who believe that the life of Streets is totally unconstrained and there is never a dearth of amazing moments to capture therein.

“Last Moments of 2011 made me appreciate the year that was. It made me realize how blessed I still am compared to the less fortunate children that I photographed- Geri Reyes

“Last Moments of 2011 made me appreciate the year that was. It made me realize how blessed I still am compared to the less fortunate children that I photographed. The experience basically made me thankful of 2011 in spite of the not-so-good memories it gave me.” Tells Geri Reyes, a Participant/photographer & a Medical Representative.
“This exposure from Emaho Magazine would be our bridge to the world; to let everyone know that there’s more to life in 2012 than the miseries of 2011.” She adds.

Sure is that such photowalks bring moments of sheer pleasure and inspiration with those who appreciate Street photography as an outstanding form of photography close to realism and to those who have already dived in to this art.
